Surly Brewing jumps on the Minnesota Twins "Bandwagon" with a new IPA

If you are a fan of Minnesota baseball & Minnesota beer, you are probably already hip to the fact that a couple of additional local breweries will be pitching their beer at Target Field this year.

Surly Brewing and Fulton Beer join the likes of Summit and Lift Bridge to sell suds at the ballpark this summer.

If the prospect of more quality beer at the ball park wan't enough to get you excited, how about a new beer? We got a total surprise today when Surly debuted a brand new India Pale Ale, Bandwagon.

The new beer is brewed with pale and crystal malts, centennial and chinook hops, and fermented with English ale yeast. The new beer will be exclusive to the ballpark for the 2012 season. Sounds like a perfect brew to go with a Kramarczuk's sausage or some salty peanuts.

Omar Ansari, Founder and President of Surly Brewing Co., said: "This is the first time we've made a West Coast IPA – it's the trendiest American craft beer style to complement the great American pastime. We're psyched to be bringing our first new beer we've brewed in a while to Target Field - it's a hoppy ale that'll go well with an afternoon of watching the Twins.

"We called it Bandwagon because right now there's a lot of bandwagons to jump on, so it really named itself. We've got the craft beer bandwagon, the IPA bandwagon, the Surly bandwagon and even the Twins bandwagon. Well now we're here, so it's time to get on the Bandwagon while there's still room."
