Southern Tier is adding to their Blackwater series, which has given us the likes of Choklat and Creme Brulee, with this Imperial Porter with Italian plums. The addition of pureed Italian plums and five different types of malts during the fermenting process give this beer strong notes of caramel and coffee, along with a subtle hint of the plums.
With an ABV of 8.0%, drinking this spring/summer offering from Southern Tier is a lovely way to spend a Wednesday evening.
