This week’s MWBG is all about citrus abuse awareness.
Let’s pretend you’re a nice navel orange. Your poor orange-y self is walking down the street, minding your own business..then BAM! Out of no where, you’re sliced up and tossed into a glass for “beer enhancement”. You totally thought you’d end up in a glass of OJ, or at worst, in a lunch box for the 1st grader down the street.
The folks at Deschutes want to make sure each orange lives up to their full potential by satisfying the citrus cravings of thirsty beer drinkers by brewing this amazingly citrusy, yet malty IPA. You won’t find a drop of fruit juice in this beer!
Totally drinkable at 6% ABV, this IPA uses liberal amounts of Citra and Mosaic hops to give the amazing citrus flavors, and just enough malty goodness to keep the hops in check.
This sounds like a cause we can raise a pint to!
