Deutscher Tage

Join us for a full menu of authentic German food, live music, dancing, family-friendly games, and more for this all-day affair! From Fiaker (carriage) rides down Summit, to May pole dancing and Oktoberfest favorites, there’s something for everyone! Sunday is jam-packed with visiting organizations and vendors to enjoy, or you can just relax with friends in the Biergarten.

Children’s activities throughout the day will include:
Kinder Kegeln / Bowling on the Lawn
German Model Trains
Eierlaufen / Egg Races
Sackhüpfen / Sack Races
Schokokuss Wettessen / Chocolate-covered Marshmallow Eating Contest
Kinderfußball / Kiddie Soccer Challenge

Fiaker Carriage Rides: 11am-2pm

Carriage rides are back by popular demand! Travel in style down historic Summit Avenue in a horse-drawn carriage, like the Kaiser would do if he were here. Be ready to check out the Victorian-era mansions on both sides of the street, because this trip back in time comes at no cost to you!

Viennese Kaffeehaus: 1-5pm

Treat yourself to the elegant and subtle art of Viennese-style coffee. Both afternoons this weekend, our dining rooms will be transformed into an authentic Viennese Kaffeehaus. Sip on a Kaffee Maria Theresia while reading a Zeitung auf Deutsch or enjoy a slick of Kuchen provided by the GAI’s Deutscher Damenklub.
