Join us Thursday for a celebration of American Craft Beer week with the tapping of Dark Horse Crooked Tree IPA “original” and three different versions of Crooked Tree brewed with three different hops. This will be a rare and unique chance to taste how different hops change the characteristics of a beer. Enjoy them in a flight and compare them side by side with each other! Tapping will be at 4pm.Dark Horse Crooked Tree IPA:
Dark Horse’s beers are memorable, flavorful, and bold, and this hazy, orange-gold offering follows suit. The aroma dignifies this beer with a sweet, dank hop fragrance that sticks to the nostrils. Below a frothy head, old, sugary, and bready malt flavors provide a sturdy base for the wonderful run of citrusy, woody, and floral hop flavors. The hop bite is substantial, in line with the style, but rounds off well and doesn’t offend the palate. With its creamy, soft body, and low alcohol, this beer is thick, but very drinkable.
Dark Horse Edacsac Dekoorc Ert:Crooked tree ipa single hop cascade:
Cinnamon and grapefruit cascade through the nostrils, touching on candied orange a nip of pine alcohol. Flavors take a little while to develop, but the Dark Horse water and yeast kick in, complementing the beeswax candles, dried orange, and Jack pine of this beer.
Dark Horse Artic Dekoorc Ert: Crooked Tree ipa single hop Citra :
Light fruity aroma. Flavors display citra nicely, with a hit of pineapple and some juicy hop resin. Clean, well supported with a very fine base malt structure, and a nice balance of bitterness
Dark Horse F. F. Dekoorc Ert: Crooked tree ipa single hop falconers flight :
Hazy orange color. Lots of particles in the body. Good thin white head. Decent lace. Medium-plus body. Good smooth lighter carbonation. More dry in the finish. Some spicy hop, but no spicy bite. Some orange-citrus. Light pepper. Good bready biscuity malt profile. Nice light zesty sweet taste, and a solid overall bitterness.
